At Burnett Therapeutic Services, we provide compassionate, comprehensive psychological evaluations for children, adolescents, and adults. Our goal is to help individuals and families better understand their unique strengths, challenges, and needs-not simply to provide a diagnosis.
Our licensed psychologists provide evaluations for:
Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
Co-occurring autism and ADHD
Developmental delays
Anxiety, depression, and mood concerns
Behavioral and emotional concerns
Executive functioning difficulties
Adaptive functioning needs
Social communication difficulties
Other developmental or psychological concerns requiring diagnostic clarification
We evaluate developmental, behavioral, communication, learning, emotional, social, and adaptive functioning concerns.
Evaluations may address autism, ADHD, executive functioning, emotional health, social development, academic performance, independence, and transition needs.
We help adults find clarity around longstanding challenges involving attention, organization, social communication, sensory processing, emotional regulation, relationships, employment, and daily functioning.
Every evaluation is developed around the person’s age, developmental level, concerns, history, and reason for seeking testing.
We consider information from interviews, observations, standardized assessments, relevant records, and, when appropriate, parents, caregivers, educators, and other professionals.
Families receive meaningful answers, a better understanding of the individual’s strengths and needs, and personalized recommendations for moving forward.
The process begins with a conversation about current concerns and relevant developmental, medical, mental health, educational, behavioral, and family history.
Parents or caregivers participate in evaluations for children and adolescents.
When available and clinically appropriate, the psychologist may review records such as:
Previous evaluations
Medical or mental health records
IEPs or 504 Plans
ABA assessments or treatment plans
Speech, occupational therapy, or developmental evaluations
The psychologist selects assessments based on the individual’s needs and the questions the evaluation is intended to answer.
Testing may explore attention, executive functioning, cognitive abilities, adaptive skills, social communication, emotional health, behavior, learning, and other relevant areas.
The evaluation may include interviews, standardized assessments, questionnaires, rating scales, cognitive testing, and direct behavioral observation.
Information may also be collected from caregivers, teachers, or other professionals when appropriate.
The psychologist brings all findings together to determine whether the individual meets diagnostic criteria for autism, ADHD, or another developmental, behavioral, or mental health condition.
Possible co-occurring conditions and alternative explanations are also carefully considered.
You will receive a report outlining:
Evaluation findings
Testing results
Diagnostic impressions
Individual strengths
Identified areas of need
Personalized recommendations
During the feedback session, the psychologist explains the results, answers questions, discusses any applicable diagnoses, and reviews recommended next steps.
Depending on the evaluation findings, recommendations may include:
Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA)
Individual or family therapy
Parent and caregiver training
Medication consultation
Speech and language services
Occupational therapy
Educational supports or accommodations
IEP or 504 Plan consideration
Workplace accommodations
Social skills support
Executive functioning support
Regional Center or community services
Clinical interviews and testing may be completed at designated BTS locations.
Certain parts of an evaluation may be completed through secure telehealth when clinically appropriate and permitted.
Some evaluations may combine telehealth and in-person appointments based on the person’s needs and the assessments selected.
